BusinessDay Releases Top 100 Women in African Fashion 2026

The Fashion Law Institute has released the third edition of its Top 100 Women in African Fashion, published by BusinessDay Nigeria in celebration of International Women's Day 2026.

The list honours visionary women whose work is reshaping the African fashion industry and driving innovation — from designers and stylists to entrepreneurs, educators, and policymakers.

Notable Honourees

While the full list spans 15 African countries and the diaspora, standout names include designers who have broken into major global retailers, stylists who have dressed A-list celebrities, and entrepreneurs building the infrastructure — payment systems, logistics, e-commerce — that African fashion brands need to scale.

The list reflects a maturing industry where women are not just creative forces but business leaders building sustainable enterprises.

"African fashion is a $31 billion industry, and women are the architects," said the Fashion Law Institute's director. "This list makes that visible."

Previous editions of the list have helped featured designers secure international partnerships, retail deals, and speaking invitations at global fashion events.
